Project Handover: 2026
The Palatinus Grand Hotel in Pécs reopened at the end of 2025 following a comprehensive reconstruction of the historic building, originally constructed in 1915. The renovation was carried out under the general design of Horváth és Patartics Építész Iroda Kft. and the interior design concept of P8 Műhely Kft. Original plaster stuccos, stained-glass surfaces, gilded ornaments and chandeliers were preserved and restored, while bespoke pirogranite elements, mirrors and claddings, developed in collaboration with the Zsolnay factory, were introduced throughout the interior.
Westwood Group was responsible for the furnishing scope of the project, covering the restaurant, bar, lobby, guestrooms, rooftop terrace and wellness area. Room-specific colour palettes for armchairs and poufs, rope-detailed bistro furniture for the French balconies, and the lobby’s deep green upholstered seating on brass legs all combine contemporary solutions with the character of the historic building. The result is an 85-room hotel operating in the 4-star superior category, with five conference rooms and a total event capacity of up to 600 guests.
